Cyclonic dust collector
A cyclone dust collector consists of an inlet pipe, an outlet pipe, a cylindrical body, a conical section, and a dust hopper. The cyclone dust collector features a simple structure that is easy to manufacture, install, and maintain. It also has low equipment investment and operating costs. As such, it is widely used for separating solid and liquid particles from gas streams or for separating solid particles from liquids.
Under normal operating conditions, the centrifugal force acting on particles is 5 to 2,500 times greater than the gravitational force; therefore, cyclone dust collectors exhibit significantly higher efficiency than gravity settling chambers. Among mechanical dust collectors, cyclone dust collectors are among the most efficient. They are suitable for removing non-sticky and non-fibrous dust particles and are typically used to capture particles larger than 5 μm. A parallel arrangement of cyclone dust collectors can achieve a dust removal efficiency of 80% to 85% even for particles as small as 3 μm.
Usually used in conjunction with a dust compactor.
